Climbing & Mountaineering in Bariloche - Mount Tronador
The most appealing mountain for climbing and mountaineering in the South end of Nahuel Huapi National Park and Bariloche surroundings is Mount Tronador.
For attempting the mountaineering ascent to Mount Tronador you should have at least two days for this mountaineering trip.
The first day we hike through a relatively easy trekking trail through Andean indigenous forest to the edge of the glacier where is located the cozy Otto Meiling mountain hut. At the mountain hut we have candle light dinner with a great view to the glacier, there we stay overnight.
The second day very early we set up to attempt the summit if the weather permitting. It is recommended to have an extra day in case of bad weather conditions. The weather in this area is very unpredictable with quick changes. For guided ascents to Mount Tronador you may hire a professional mountain guide at Hostería Pampa Linda or Otto Meiling mountain hut.
Other attractive mountains for guided mountaineering ascents in the Hotel Tronador surroundings are Bonete and Diego Flores de León.
